Description
BioMarq Giemsa Stain Kit is used for in vitro diagnostic identification of Helicobacter Pylori bacterium on gastric biopsy sections. Helicobacter pylori a gram negative spiral bacteria is believed to be the cause of many gastric and peptic ulcers. The bacteria digest the mucus layer of the mucosal and surface cells, leaving the mucosa unprotected against the gastric acid.
The combination of the azure dyes (methylene blue) and eosin are known as Romanowsky stains which give a wide color range. Methylene blue in an alkaline pH solution stains metachromatic. The qualitative and quantitative composition of staining mixture and the careful differentiation allow in identifying bacteria on tidy ground.
