BioMarq Gomori’s Trichrome Blue Stain Kit is used for in vitro diagnostic use. Gomori’s stain is the differentiating stain for muscle and connective tissue. This procedure is useful in the assessment of the degree of fibrosis in liver biopsies.

Gomori’s Trichrome stain is used to test for certain forms of mitochondrial myopathy. The staining procedure involves the staining of cytoplasmic fibers and Connective tissue with mordant (phosphotungstic acid), collagen stained by Chromotrope 2R and hematoxylin stain nuclei. The stain quality is improved by Bouin’s solution (a fixative).
