Description

BioMarq PAS Stain Kit is used for in vitro diagnostic use. PAS staining is used for staining of higher proportion of macro molecules such as glycogen & mucopoly saccharides
containg tumor tissue. PAS Staining Kit may also be used to in distinguishing a PAS positive secreting adenocarcinoma from an undifferentiated PAS negative squamous cell
carcinoma. Fungal secretions in the tissue are also been identified.

The high molecular weight carbon components, carbon bonds in the tissues, are broken down (oxidized) into aldehyde bonds in the presence of Periodic acid, which then reacts with fuchsin-sulfurous acid present in the Schiff’s reagent and gives a magenta color.
